We are delighted to have taken part in the Aquaculture Morocco International Conference, held on 3–4 December in Agadir and organised by the Agadir Horticultural Complex, representing the AQUA’MAR project. This research programme, funded by the Academy of Research and Higher Education (ARES), is developed through a strategic collaboration between the SMPC UMONS department, UMONS Research, Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Haute École Provinciale de Hainaut – Condorcet in Belgium, and Cadi Ayyad University and Abdelmalek Essaâdi University in Morocco.

This initiative aims to strengthen scientific and technological capacities in sustainable aquaculture and to engage with leading experts in the field. The event brought together national and international researchers, professionals and industry stakeholders, with highly insightful discussions enriched by diverse perspectives.

Our sincere thanks go to the organising committee, led by Mr Rachid Ganga, and to all the invited speakers for such a high-quality scientific and professional event.

Special thanks to the people we had the pleasure of meeting during these two days: Dominique Bureau, Kabir Chowdhury, Lukas Manomaitis, Sunil Kadri, Chalor Limsuwan, Feyza Sanver, Diego Garrido Lorenzo and Daniel Hernández Peraza.

We look forward to continuing our efforts to advance sustainable aquaculture through the work of the AQUA’MAR project.
