On 6 July 2026 in Tetouan, UMONS and Abdelmalek Essaâdi University (UAE) signed a framework agreement to strengthen their cooperation in research, training, innovation and academic mobility.
The agreement consolidates a scientific collaboration that is already well established between the two institutions, notably through the AQUA’MAR project. It opens up new opportunities for exchanges between researchers, lecturers, PhD students and students, as well as for the development of joint scientific and technological projects.
Following this meeting, the UMONS delegation visited the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Larache to see the progress of the future AQUA’TECH aquaculture platform, developed as part of AQUA’MAR with the support of ARES.
This facility will be dedicated to experimentation, training and innovation, with the aim of helping to develop more sustainable solutions for the aquaculture sector.
Through this agreement and the achievements of AQUA’MAR, the two universities are reaffirming their commitment to turning their scientific cooperation into concrete projects that serve research, innovation and sustainable development.
